Iker
Casillas Fernández was born in Móstoles, on May 20th 1981. He is a
soccer player from Real Madrid and Spanish national team. He is a goalkeeper.
Casillas started playing football in 1990, in Real Madrid’s youth teams. In 9
years, he became the goalkeeper of the First Team. His fast ascend didn’t
happened unnoticed by Spain youth team. So, he played for La Roja in the youth
categories too. And with the national team, he won a lot of tournaments and
became internationally recognized. He won U-15, U-17 and U-19 European
Championship that time.
No
one had picked up Casillas place on Spanish Team and Real Madrid since
1999-2000. He is a special goalkeeper, full of titles. In 2008, he won UEFA
Euro, and in 2010 he won FIFA World Cup as the captain of the team. It was
Spain’s first World Cup title.With Real Madrid he won a lot of titles,
including 2 UEFA Champions League (the most important club tournament in the world)
and 1 International Cup.
Casillas
skills, agility and defenses made him the best goalkeeper in the world
nowadays. And he’s expected to be the
best for a long time.
